How can I decide, if my pet is nourished well?

Your pet is nourished well, if the following criteria are met:

• Your animal has got shiny fur and there is minimal scaling.
• If your dog receives the appropriate quantity of food, it will stay the same weight.
• Your dog should pass one to three times a day an average quantity of solid excrements.
• If your pet is agile and behaves corresponding to its race, you can assume that it savours its food and that it feels good.

Is my pet obese?

A rule of thumb says that long-haired pets are too thick, if you cannot feel their ribs when stroking them. Short-haired dogs are not too thick as long as you can vaguely see the ribs.

How much water does my dog need every day?

At a surrounding temperature of 20 degrees Celsius a dog needs:

• with Anifit nutrition (canned food) 5-10 millilitres per kg body weight. 
  Example: a dog weighing 15kg needs 75-150 millilitres water a day.
• with dry food 40-50 millilitres per kg body weight.

Am I allowed to give my dog a snack from time to time?

Of course snacks are allowed, but you should give only snacks that are suitable for dogs and you have to reduce your dog’s food portion of this day by the snack’s calories.
